Sears UX Team— 2nd Annual Art Contest GREEN MACHINE 2nd Place Winner, 2113
They say one man’s trash is another’s treasure. What about another man’s masterpiece? That’s the challenge posed to our UX team at Sears for the second annual art exhibition. The 250+ team of designers, writers, developers, web architects, researchers, and others were invited to up-cycle artistically. Essentially, up-cycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials, products of better quality, better environmental value or into works of art.
I was inspired to create a table and chair tableau using various found elements like old wood, pipe organs, a hubcap and clock parts. I also designed a contemplative book of "Hours" using copper etching. A vase filled with clock-part flowers rounds out this scene.
